Dementia Action Week (16-22 May 2022)

A message from the Homecare Association;

Dementia Action Week is fast approaching and kicks off on the 16th May 2022. Dementia Action week is the Alzheimer’s Society’s biggest and longest running campaign.  It aims to create awareness of dementia and encourages individuals and organisations to ‘act on dementia’.

We know that many of our members are enabling people to live well at home with the condition and continue to flourish in their communities.  During Dementia Action week, we want to celebrate the high-quality care your teams provide those living with dementia, to show the positive effect great care can have on a person’s overall health and wellbeing.

Please share your stories with us – this could be something small a careworker has done to better connect with their client, or the implementation of a dementia initiative that has improved the way you provide dementia care, or the story of a careworker who has gone above and beyond in their community to support those living with dementia – these are some examples – we know there are many exceptional stories of best practice dementia care being delivered every day by our member’s care teams.  Please feel free to send videos or write a submission with photos.

Your stories will be included in our Dementia Action Week blog and promoted through our social media channels throughout the week.  It’s a great opportunity to showcase the fantastic work you do whilst creating awareness of Dementia Action Week.

To submit your story simply reply to this email or message editor@homecareassociation.org.uk directly

We look forward to hearing all your stories.
